Bachelor Of Science Degree In Accounting

The Accounting environment has been revered for decades as a rigid arena, often dodged by many.  There is no more need for dodging.  The opportunities of globalization have brought about sweeping changes in regulatory environments.  These changes have brought along with them an increasing demand for accountants who possess the competence to detect, analyze and simplify the complexities of the business environment.  The Accounting Program provides a cadre of skills that are necessary for maximizing efficiencies in the workplace.  Students will be exposed to the methodology and practice of financial reporting/analysis, managerial accounting, cost accounting/management, taxation accounting, accounting ethics and overall financial management.  The Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting, provides the base for the pursuit of professional certifications inclusive of CPA, CMA and CIA

BACHELOR OF ARTS DEGREE IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

The BA Degree in Business Administration provides the opportunity for students to be exposed to theoretical and practical business skills.  The tools garnered in this program serve to build capacity for managers who want to be impactful in the global business arena.

The First Year studies intentionally foster numeracy, literacy and computer skills along with exposure to natural and social sciences. The Core of the program is designed to establish a firm business foundation inclusive of skill-sets in Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, Marketing and Management Strategy.  The Major components of the course are designed increase capacity in Accounting, Business Strategy, Economics, Human Resource Management, Marketing and Training and Development.  These competencies together will provide  Graduates of this program can confidently pursue vocations in the public and private sectors.  This undergraduate base is valuable, however graduates are encouraged to press on to the graduate level.

Associate of Arts Degree in Accounting

The Accounting Program provides a cadre of skills that are necessary for maximizing efficiencies in the workplace.  Students will be introduced to the methodology and practice of financial reporting/analysis, managerial accounting, cost accounting/management, taxation accounting, accounting ethics and overall financial management.  Students in this program will be exposed to the intricacies involved in business strategy, taxation regulation and financial organization. The Associate of Arts Degree in Accounting, provides the base for the pursuit of the Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting.  The program is typically for 2 years at Full Time participation.  The coursework of the program includes Statistics, Tax law, Economics, Principles of Finance, and Cost Analysis.  Graduates of this program will be qualified to take on vocations in accounting firms, banks, government revenue departments, accounts departments in the public service and private sector.

Associate of Arts Degree in Banking

The Associate of Arts Degree in Banking is a two year program that provides the opportunity for students to be exposed to theoretical and practical banking skills.  The tools learned in this program serve to establish a base for students who will pursue the Bachelor of Arts Degree in Banking and Finance.

The First Year studies intentionally foster numeracy, literacy and computer skills along with exposure to natural and social sciences. The Core of the program provides skills in the Principles of Accounting, Business, Principles of Management, Business Ethics and Marketing. The Major component of the course introduces the student to the Principles of Finance, Principles or Banking, International Consumer Lending and Branch Banking.  These competencies together will provide the students with the capacity to perform efficiently in entry level positions in financial institutions

Graduates of this program can confidently pursue vocations in the public and private sectors.  This undergraduate base is valuable, however graduates are encouraged to press on to the Bachelor of Arts Degree in Banking and Finance.

The Associate of Arts Degree in Business Administration is a two year program that provides the opportunity for students to be exposed to theoretical and practical business skills.  The tools garnered in this program serve to establish a base for students who will pursue the Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration.

The Major components of the course introduces the student to Business Strategy, Economics, Human Resource Management, Marketing and Training and Development.  These competencies together will provide Graduates of this program can confidently pursue vocations in the public and private sectors.  This undergraduate base is valuable, however graduates are encouraged to press on to the Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration.

GENERAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

1. Graduate from High School or equivalent
2. BGCSE passes in five (5) subject areas inclusive of English and Mathematics with a “C” grade or above 
    or Equivalent. If applicant is 21 years or older, should have passed at least three subjects inclusive of
    English and Mathematics, SAT scores of 850 + or possess two years of work experience in the related
    field.
3. Completed Application Form
4. Include two recent passport photographs, a copies of the information page of your passport and Smart
    National Insurance Card.
5. High School Transcripts and other Post-Secondary Academic Records.
6. A Medical Report is required.
7. Proof of Health Insurance for International Students
8. Copies of all Academic Certificates
9. Three Letters of Recommendation: Pastor, Employer or Civic Leader.
